Meet the Artist

Hi! I’m Marissa Marquez, a painter and illustrator living in Colorado.

I loved looking at and creating art since I was a kid. I took art classes whenever I could and even went to art school. But after college I started designing websites and eventually became a software engineer for many years. Even then I still made art in spurts and occasionally took art classes through adult ed programs.

In January 2024, I finally took the leap and became a full-time artist. I spent the year exploring everything from pet portraits and plein air watercolors to acrylic landscapes and surface pattern design. This year I'm focusing on acrylic and watercolor landscapes.
